Dominican Republic

One of the reasons I chose NYU was because of the overall emphasis on the internationalization of the curriculum, including opportunities for graduate students. I chose a 2-week program to the Dominican Republic from the Department of Teaching and Learning. The course, Intercultural Perspectives in Multicultural & Multilingual Education, addressed issues of immigration, multicultural pedagogy and ELL students from a k-16 perspective. The program especially appealed to me because participants stayed with host families and for me that has always been the cruz of international learning, regardless of language ability.
