This past summer I spent working in the Office of Housing & Community Life at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Though I chose to attend a master’s program in New York, I knew my career would take me back to Oregon after graduation. I used the summer internship program through the Association of College and University Housing Officers to begin building my professional network back in my home state. It also gave me an opportunity to experience residence life on a college campus, working with student leadership training and roommate matching.
